About the faculty

The Faculty of Architecture separated from the Faculty of Construction of the Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Construction in 1969.

Today, more than 100 professors and teachers work at the faculty. Leading scholars in architecture, including A.S. Uralov, K.D. Rakhimov, D.N. Sultanova and Sh.M. Abduraimov, are members of specialized scientific councils for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations.

Doctor of Architectural Sciences, Professor A.S. Uralov is also deputy chair of the specialized scientific council for doctoral and candidate dissertations under the Faculty of Architecture of Karakalpak State University.

Professors A.S. Uralov and E.M. Muhammadiyev, who were awarded the high titles of Honored Youth Mentor of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Honored Art Worker of Uzbekistan, are a source of pride for both the faculty and the university.

Since 1998, postgraduate studies in the specialty 18.00.01, Theory and History of Architecture, Restoration of Architectural Monuments, have operated at the faculty, and since 2000 doctoral studies have been established in this specialty.

In accordance with the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 28, 2023, scientific council PhD.26/26.01.2023.A.109.05 was established at Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University to award the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.

The Faculty of Architecture is an educational, scientific and administrative unit of SAMDAQU. It trains students in relevant educational fields and specialties, supports the educational process, and coordinates the research work of departments within the faculty.

The dean's office manages the faculty and performs coordination and control functions. Its main tasks include monitoring teachers' activities, evaluating student performance, and working with the admissions committee on applicant registration and admission.

To ensure implementation of the Presidential Resolution of November 8, 2022, No. PQ-416, new departments were established at the faculty.
